Iam also facing the same issue with my Dell Latitude E7250, It only works when the adapter is plugged in and the battery doesn't store any charge!!. The laptop doesn't even detect the battery. When i turn on the laptop, it shows alternative white and oranges flashings in the charging LED.

Goto device manager (right click "Computer" & select manage) Under the Batteries section, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery (or similar) listings, and select Uninstall. Shutdown laptop & disconnect mains power. Reset your battery (as above) Connect power & restart.

Whenit is plugged in, it shows as plugged in, but battery does not charge. LED light next to charge port is white. When the charger is removed it stays white. I have updated BIOS to latest

Whenthe uninstall is complete, shut the PC down, unplug the AC Adapter, re-insert the battery and then see if the notebook will start on just the battery. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver - leave Windows running for a few minutes. Shutdown the PC again.
